I gotta say, #cosmicdesktop gets many things right even in its alpha state. Using it right now. X11 apps and Electron garbage all work fine with fractional scaling. Can't say that about #gnome49. Oh, and quarter tiling by default! Optimistic for what the future brings for it.

Yep. It works just as well in shell 49 as it did in 48.

(I'm already running a fork to fix a bug in the battery monitor.)

A keypress is stuck and keeps repeating when you change workspace (e.g. change to #VSCode / #VSCodium)?

Workaround: sudo dnf downgrade mutter, downgrade to version 49.1.

Does anyone know how to make `mutter-devkit` respect the `MUTTER_DEBUG_DUMMY_MODE_SPECS` env variable that always worked with `dbus-run-session -- gnome-shell --nested --wayland`?

Do I really need to compile a specific Mutter MR just to get a custom resolution working with `mutter-devkit`?

If you're on Fedora 42 and use multiple keyboard layouts with a custom keybinding to switch between them — hold off on upgrading to Fedora 43. ⚠️

There's a regression in GNOME affecting layout switching. Wait until this fix is backported to GNOME 49 and lands in Fedora:

Just upgraded to #fedora43. Everything works as before, bugs and all.

Disappointed that the #Steam .desktop file is *still* broken (seemingly intentionally?). It still has 'PrefersNonDefaultGPU=true', which causes GNOME to try to run Steam on my integrated GPU (you know ... the non-default one), which doesn't work.

This has been an issue for like a year... I wonder if anyone cares? #fedora #gnome #gnome49 #linux #linuxgaming
