A major day for Stellaris as the Stellaris: BioGenesis expansion has released, and the huge free overhaul patch 4.0 "Phoenix" has arrived. If you've been away a while, it looks like a great time to jump back in. This is probably one of the biggest updates to the game since release back in 2016.

@WeirdWriter Yup. For the same reason I've only been near exclusively buying stuff off of #GOG over the past few years instead of relying on #Steam. #DRM-free matters if we want a healthy and functional society. Just imagine if someone suggested to create libraries today lol.
So I got like $3USD in my #GoG wallet (I had to return a game because I was too dumb to check if it could run on Linux before I bought it, and it was on super sale). So I'm going through the store looking for stuff less than that.
Friends, I had totally forgotten how many Doom Clones there were. And like 80% of them are on GoG. For super cheap.
So if you dig on mid-to-late 90s FPS games, have I got a store for you... all DRM free!

I have started checking to see if a game is on GoG.com before I wishlist/buy it on #Steam.
Much of my game collection is on Steam, and Steam has done a lot for #LinuxGaming.
But the #GoG focus on game archival/old games play-ability/anti-DRM/game ownership stance are things I wanna support. I really wish GoG was better with Linux compatibility; their Galaxy Installer is Windows only and only kinda works in Wine. But it is what it is.
What do you think?
On my my favorite games is on sale on #GOG for an amazing price. Combine Rogue-lite elements with Tactics gameplay immersed in a horror setting that wouldn't be out of place in Bloodborne and cover it with so much style it deserves its own runway in Paris, and you might get close to Othercide. I can't recommend it enough. Do yourself a favor and get the soundtrack with it. It works well on Steam Deck, too!

@Erebus_Amauro Los #videojuegos son programas informáticos (sin meterme en tema de activos) y de toda la puta vida de Dios que se distribuye software se hace bajo una licencia de uso; se consideran servicios. Sea la típica privativa o una GPL.
Que #Valve deje claro eso es *honestidad*. Peor lo hace #GOG que da a entender que somos propietarios cuando ellos también venden licencias de uso. Sin DRM, claro, pero eso no cambio el hecho fundamental.

My single minded focus on just the #StarWars legends materials like books and comics and games, choosing to skip all current Disney projects for now after being unhappy with most of it, has led me to picking up Knights of the Old Republic II on a big sale on #GoG where I also picked up Ys 1 and 2 at a third of their usual price.

Me he pillado el #ElEscuderoValiente en #GOG. Llevo casi tres horas y me está gustando. Es un pequeñito juego con un planteamiento original y divertido. La verdad que #DevolverDigital tiene buen ojo para publicar. Por el 25% de descuento (o más si te esperas) vale bastante la pena.
Los peques lo pueden jugar perfectamente (no solo por temática) pues tiene bastante ayudas. Los adultos con ignorar las ayudas constantes (son opcionales) podemos disfrutar mejor el juego.
Flåklypa Grand Prix game from 2000 is as good as unplayable for most regular people today because,
- The game never saw a digital release
- The CD contains the CD-COPS protection which doesn't play nice with modern Windows and basically no one has a CD-drive anymore.
- The game requires the use of a DirectX wrapper like dgvoodoo2.
This is an important part of Norwegian video game history! Please, cast a vote for it on #GOG to help bring it back 🙏.
