So, my company uses #gSuite for their email. This morning, I was greeted with this nonsense:

Interesting and long long long long overdue new integration for #GSuite between the old #GChat feature (now just gmail chat) and #google #meet chat. Meet chats now appear in GChat.

Got turned on at the tail end of my sabbatical and I started getting a flood of message notifications (now muted).

Since it got the flood of messages, I said hello to my team whilst not in the meeting to:
a) see if it got sent to the meeting room without me being in it
b) see if they missed me

It did. They didn’t

Do I know anyone that has moved away from using GSuite?
It’s becoming increasingly frustrating to use, this might be the year that I actually move.

Drive is obviously easy to migrate from. Mainly concerned about email, but I’m unsure if there are other things I didn’t know I should worry about, hence the broad term of the entire suite.

I swear to god: since #Google decided that my email domain wasn't trustworthy (in spite of being older than Google, itself, and having #SPF, #DKIM and #DMARC records, etc.), I've been receiving more spam from @gmail.com addresses.

Going to guess that, as they've made things more difficult for independent/small-scale domains to send emails to #gMail and #gSuite users, more spammers are opening up accounts directly with Google to spam from.

Have to add: Using #Chromium as a secondary browser for the #GSuite apps.

#firefox is my main browser and works just fine, but I need google apps for some issues and they're not usable with FF + #Wayland + #hyprland right now.

I got all excited to switch email providers from Gmail to @protonprivacy because I love their privacy stance and services for replacing other aspects of Google Workspace. Unfortunately, I just realized they don’t allow IMAP on iOS, so I have to use their email app. That means constantly using multiple mail apps on my phone which is a nonstarter.

Any other recommendations for a reliable Google replacement? I use Email, Docs/Sheets, and Drive.
