Holaa, hace un rato no publico sobre esto, estoy trabajando en una actualización del configurador de mi proyecto Espotipad (ESP-OneTimePad) por ahí apuro el desarrollo y me salteo todos los to-do, me cuesta un poco autogestionarme, sufro de ansiedad en ocasiones.

Las caracteristicas nuevas son

• Tema nord (gracias a dios, que en este contexto soy yo)
• Calculacion automática del tamaño del secreto en vez de una opción rara de seleccion por hash
• Botón "+" para agregar más entradas
• El tamaño maximo de entradas de Wifi pasó de 1 a 30.
• El tamaño máximo de entradas de OTP pasó de 20 a 30.
• Se agregan tabs para mayor claridad
• Va a haber instalación automagica con 1 click.

¿Suena a major update no? Es solo el configurador y algunos tweaks.

Obviamente el proyecto se puede compilar, es linux-oriented. y sino bajarse el archivo ELF ya compilado para x86_64

Nota: No creo que ande en windows... tal vez si, con el WSL, no lo sé apostaría que no

What is the absolute worst file manager out there, and why is it the Finder on MacOS?? I've never seen an app that tried to hide so much by default (and beyond).

Linux terminal should input and output HTML.

We'd get more eye-candy and clickable affordances like ad hoc menus, selectors, etc.

With Google Material like dictate we could get standardization to all the parameter-inconsistencies of the current command line tools.

Traditional text outputs would go to <PRE>.

Currently I have only one clickable affordance: open an URL with ctrl-right click.

Sometimes I'd like to have more: selectors, radiobuttons, etc.

Why does the terminal only have text and links to outside? – It could have more.

Like web pages.

Perhaps multiple (named) local pipes would be nice: |, |2, |name, etc. (Locality is currently possible with mkfifo name-`uuidgen`).

In the end there could be no distinction with GUI and command line.

We we could interact with #GUI
software interfaces with written #CLI commands.

#AI folks could provide #agents.

Or perhaps a #LLM #chatbot's could have GUI interfaces..

Or what do you think?

Sharing to Mastodon using any browser in iOS does not allow pasting copied text. You have to post first, go to mastodon, hit your profile pic in the bottom right, select edit post, then you can paste text. No other social media platform or app, native app or mobile website exhibits this behavior.

So I think I’ll stop posting to Mastodon as it’s tedious compared to posting to x or Bluesky or even UpScrolled.

@badrihippo modern frameworks like React, Vue, and Van.js are all very similar, but I have not seen a consistent name for this family of frameworks. I have heard it called “The Elm Architecture,” because they are loosely based on how the Elm programming language originally did GUI programming in the browser. I have also heard it called the Model-View-Update paradigm. But most people just call it “React-like” or “Reactive Programming” because they are all similar to the very popular “React.js” framework.

Note that this should not be confused with Functional Reactive Programming (FRP), although the two are not completely different. As I understand it, React-like GUIs and FRP can both be implemented on top of a more powerful and more general computation model called “propagators” (here is the PDF of the original Propagators paper).

@dthompson wrote a really good blog post about FRP, propagators, and React-like frameworks.

I hope that helps, but I am not as well-versed in the theory of this stuff as I should be.

Oh, and I should say, before React-like took over the world wide web, GUI programming was mostly intertwined with Object Oriented Programming and design, so a good place to start might be to read up on Smalltalk OOP and GUI design.

Right now I am looking at Eastgate https://eastgate.com/ products like #tinderbox and #storyspace. I am fascinated by both products and probably going to give them a try. But like always, are there any alternatives out there, like real ones? I tried to get started with #hyperbole #emacs many times, with little success. I also actually think that for #hypertext, working with a #gui is needed for the experience.
