Mit server-side Bridges für #IRC (#biboumi), #SMS (#sms4you) und Matrix (#slidge). Eine Bridge zu ActivityPub (#libervia) habe ich mangels Bedarf derzeit nicht mehr.
Slidge kann auch Discord, Facebook, Mattermost, Signal, Steam, Telegram, Tencent QQ und Whatsapp bridgen: https://slidge.im/ Habe ich aber keinen Bedarf.
Libervia kann mittlerweile auch Email bridgen. Habe ich noch nicht probiert.

Tive um problema com a criptografia #OMEMO no #XMPP. A mensagem recebida aparece corretamente no #Conversations_im, mas no Dino fica:

E no #Gajim fica:

Alguém sabe por que isso acontece?

HTTP upload? Isn't that how #XMPP sends pictures in chat? Even #Gajim and #Conversations will auto-download those.
I was under the impression those are stored-and-forwarded by the XMPP server, though, since most XMPP clients are behind NAT and can't directly communicate with each other.
Was I mistaken?

How can I get #conversations_im and #gajim and #dino_im to notice from each other when I blocked a user?
Currently I have to block and close the same annoying spam chat on each device / in each app separately. Is that normal or should I complain to my server admin? (*duck*).
I can't be the first one wishing for an XEP for this 😉.

У #gajim клиента #jabber очень современный интерфейс. Когда я им последний раз пользовался, он представлял из себя окно с тремя кнопками, из которого я не смог пройти авторизацию на сервере. Сейчас же он поддерживает последние XEP. Я удивлен, что в jabber есть лайки. Я удивлен, что jabber есть истории https://dev.gajim.org/gajim/gajim/-/issues/12598. И gajim разрабатывается! в отличие от #pidgin (последнее обновление Jan 14, 2019).

I really think it is a useful feature and have been using it in Mattermost and Slack for many years.
I hope #xmpp clients like #dino #gajim and #conversations_im will follow with a similar feature, maybe even making it possible to sync such message pins across clients.
For those who want to start some new project in response to the #Discord thing, I applaud your determination and good intentions, but please just be honest that you have a good **decade or two** of work ahead of you if you want to start from scratch. If that feels like it's too far into the future, you might instead want to consider throwing in your efforts to **existing** projects, and doing whatever you can to lift up whatever weaknesses they have, having gotten to know them well for their strengths and weaknesses. This takes time - to gain a sense of the ecosystem. Whatever ugly legacy they have, please do your best to tolerate it (say, #XML) **if it's working**, and not creating ongoing problems.
Voltaire famously said: "Perfect is the enemy of good". Alas, huge numbers of #OpenSource geeks have a very hard time learning this lesson.
Many good, existing projects need help **marketing**!! They need help with grassroots efforts to build more of a userbase. They need help getting into classrooms, getting into school curriculum, getting into a default install of #RaspberryPi OS, #Debian, getting into the "Welcome Wizard" app shown after a fresh install.

#JitsiMeet offers #Videocalling and #ScreenSharing and #Mumble offers #VoiceChat…
Instead if one #Bloatware, multiple smaller tools can do the same aspects better.
The same goes for anything else...

I'm not even asking #TechIlliterates to go to a #CryptoParty or use #Tails, but merely following step-by-step guides for easy-to-use and -setup options like #DeltaChat & #Thunderbird and/or #monoclesChat & #gajim respectably.
