An Australia Galah can be found throughout Australia but doesn't like the driest areas and the far north of Cape York Peninsula.

Galahs are gregarious Australian parrots notable for their often comical behaviour.

The name galah is derived from 'gilaa', a word found in Yuwaalaraay, an Aboriginal language of New South Wales. Since galahs pair for life, the death of a partner causes its mate great anguish.

My house is surrounded by #powerlines that I mostly ignore, but early this morning, about 50 #galahs decorated the wires, singing & playing. The galahs that hang upside down are such clowns - my old #farrier said it's a sign of rain.
