#Genuary26

I combined the #genuary26 und #genuary27 prompts: "Symmetry" and "Make something interesting with no randomness or noise or trig".

The basis is a simplified part of a historic floor mosaic from cyprus and I tried out the p5js blendModes a bit and messed the mosaic up on purpose for the last screenshot. #genuary

Screenshot of a p5js sketch, showcasing a simplified version of a part of a geometric antique floor mosaic from cyprus repeated in a 7 by 5 grid with varying very strong colors, the pattern on the background of each tile is blended with the "exclusion" blendMode, which results in a good contrast.Screenshot of a p5js sketch, showcasing a simplified version of a part of a geometric antique floor mosaic from cyprus repeated in a 5 by 5 grid with varying very strong colors in the background, the pattern on each tile is blended with the "exclusion" blendMode, the brightness is lowered slightly. The colour change also results in a kind of repetition.Screenshot of the same p5js sketch, but here I messed around with the mosaic, so its no longe symmetric, but makes a nice effect as well, looks even a bit glitched.

Symmetry - Of course I used some random numbers to try to make it interesting. Code here: davebauer.art/web-and-python-p

Genuary 26 : Symmetry

arielmartinperez.com/pages/202

As the month comes to an end, I'm struggling more and more to keep writing at the same time as carrying all my daily life chores, so this is going to be the last installment of this series. If anything, this challenge has helped me get back on track with writing code in processing and I've explored some other languages in the process. 1/2

prompt: symmetry.
prompt: something interesting with no randomness or noise.

If there's gotta be no randomness, you need to introduce control. I made this cute discontinued device called the Arc work with . This is usually driven by a UDP server, but turns out browsers can't use UDP, so I wrote a WebSocket bridge. Looks like it works 😎

The prompt for #Genuary2025 Day 27 is β€œ #NoRandomnessβ€œ, Day 26 is β€œ #Symmetry β€œ & Day 20 is β€œ #Architecture ”

FlyingConicBuildings uses #livecodelab, #P5JS @processing & #Hydravideosynth @hydra to make a mix of Architectural inspired Code with no Randomness. With the audio code being symmetrical in how it is coded in LiveCodeLab.

#Genuary26: Symmetry

I think the outputs from this algorithm would make cool/interesting stained glass.

Blue, orange, and red nested triangles form symmetric shapes around the y-axis.

"Symmetry."

Let's go for some six-fold radial symmetry with hexagons. Honestly most of the outputs from this thing are not much to look at, but I'm unreasonably fond of this one for some reason.

A pattern of small interlocking hexagons exhibit six-fold radial symmetry. The predominant color is a medium blue but there are highlights of light blue and pink. It reminds me of a video game from the 1980's.

#genuary26 - "Symmetry"

I wanted to use some different variations of symmetry here, so there are agents that display symmetric *behaviour* as well as some more traditional reflective symmetry.

Agents are placed into groups of curvature, velocity, pattern, colour, and axis of symmetry. When one changes, all in the group change.

Grey lines on a black background. Lines follow a path, some straight, some curved forming arcs and circles. There is some rough symmetry between parts of the image.Light brown lines on a black background. The image shows diagonal symmetry running from the top-left to the bottom-right. Lines range from straight, to meandering along a curve, with many having a sin path applied to them with the amplitude and frequency changing over the duration.

The system is symmetric even if the output isn't completely.
