Ornate antique bank vault door set into a weathered red brick wall. The heavy metal door shows extensive rust and corrosion in shades of blue-gray, orange, and brown. The door features elaborate architectural detailing including a triangular pediment at the top with a central medallion, decorative rosettes along the frieze, and fluted pilasters on either side. Two round door handles are visible on the face of the door, which also has a deteriorating white rectangular patch. The door sits on a small brick step, and plants are growing at its base and along the top of the brick wall.

Beneath a very hazy whitewashed sky we are looking out from an outcrop of gray rock high on a mountain. In spots where soil has been deposited on the rock there are patches of tall grass and small leafy shrubs. The tops of several pines and leafless hardwoods are poking up from the mountainside near the base of the outcrop. Below us the rugged foothills and the valleys carving them show much more green, although even down there we see a few areas where the trees are still budding and leafless. Beyond that are glimpses of a much lower country of farms and wooded hills is cloaked in the intense greens of a far more advanced spring season.
