A new laptop and 3D scanner for Christmas. This is the shifter in the '35.
Simplified the mesh, converted to .stl in Meshmixer then to a solid in Fusion. Added a solid cylinder then subtracted the knob, added grooves & spit in half so it can physically be installed.
Pretty neat stuff. It's all on the strength of the laptop: Ultra 9 275HX 24 core @ 5.4 Ghz, 64 GB memory, GTX5060 GPU with 8GB and 2TB of SSD.
Working as designed except some dummy left a ground loose.
I'm fortunate to be able to do this. My hands don't hurt and I can still read the wire gauges. 18g anyway; 20 is iffy.
Head Unit almost ready to wire up, time to cut a hole.
The previous photo shows a Rpi5 under the red cover, and a buck converter mounted on a S3 UPS + LiPo batteries.
The S3 has a on/off switch which the pi uses upon auto-shutdown. This required burning out one of my few remaining coherent brain cells. C'est la vie.
