I recently learned that when you buy a $5 box of #GirlScout cookies, less than $1 actually goes to the girls' scout troop. So if you are buying the #cookeis because you like them, great. If you are doing it only to help the girls, give them a #cash #donation instead, it's 5 times more powerful.

Oh and apparently they aren't supposed to tell people this because reasons.

Played with my Silhouette cutting machine this afternoon making labels for my various #GirlScout boxes. Wayyyyyy more effort than truly reasonable, but at least they are pretty! 💜

So proud of what I've helped make. #INSPO (a #GirlScout volunteer education conference I founded) is going to sell out within one day. This is my third year directing this event, and the demand just keeps getting higher. To me, it is clear that #participantleadership is essential for Girl Scouts to succeed. Being part of the solution instead of waiting for Council staff to "fix it" is necessary for success.

You can also use wads of clothing lint from your dryer instead of using leaves for kindling. It's just as flammable, but doesn't blow off in the wind as easily to start fires elsewhere.

Another great #campfire trick is to cut up a thin dinnertable candle into 1-inch pieces, wrap the pieces in wax paper, like candies. 🍬 Use one or two of these, tucked under the larger wood pieces, when starting a fire. They last awhile & light up easily. (In #GirlScouts, we called these "candle kisses.")

One of my kids is a #girlScout but not old enough to be good at coordinating, so I was the #girlScoutCookie coordinator this year

Lord I'm glad that's done with

We don't have a place in the house where that many cookies are safe from the dog

But the garage was a disaster

So the whole season was massively stressful
