GIVE BLOOD!

Last night was my 26th donation. Fortunately, my iron levels were fine this time (they were "just" under in July so I was unable to donate).

Unfortunately, Mrs. C got a text 30 minutes before we were due to leave that her appointment had been cancelled. Staff shortages, etc.

They had prioritised rarer blood groups, which I am in, so that's why I was still able to go and donate.

If you do get the chance, or are able to, or feel the need to, please donate your blood. It's vitally important and there are huge shortages in the UK, especially.

Modern medicine is quietly miraculous.

Two of my relatives almost died from stomach bleeds at one point. They put about four human beings' blood in total through them; they're still here.

All I have to do is sit in this chair for two hours and someone, somewhere, in the not too distant future, survives their worst day and lives twenty, thirty, fifty more years.

That's wild.
