Hard pill to swallow: for most people, federation and ownership of data, or big corp using their data for malicious reasons are not enough reasons to switch. People want - and deserve - good #UX and network effect which is very rare in #fediverse family.

A cowboy dev in a room cracking code is a good start, but a successful product needs more than that. From growth, UX and from financial perspective.

Der nette Nebeneffekt, dass viele Leute ungenutzte Apps nicht deinstallieren?

#Signal war bei Vielen in meinem näheren Umfeld noch installiert, da ich viele der Handys selbst eingerichtet hab oder irgendwann mal bei einem Problem geholfen hab. Oft hab ich beiläufig sowas gefragt wie: "es gibt da so eine neue App, die sicherer als WhatsApp ist, möchtest du die mal probieren? Kann dir die App einrichten und die sieht aus wie WhatsApp"

Oft kam dann sowas wie "meinetwegen".
