A nice end to our day: Eastern Point #Lighthouse in #Gloucester #MA . We also walked the entire length of the Dog Bar Breakwater, about a half mile each way. Refreshing to see, hear, and smell the #ocean.

#Hammond Castle in #Gloucester, #MA reminds me of Thomas #Jefferson 's #Monticello. Both men were avid inventors whose intellectual interests can be seen in the houses they designed. Although Hammond made his name in #radio, #wireless, and other electronics, he loved #medieval history and classical music.

Today Mike and I went #whale watching in #Gloucester. We didn't get good pictures, but it was thrilling to see them. Their names are Cupid and Diablo. The whales in the Gulf of Maine are the most studied in the world and a research vessel was there when we were.
