I bought apples, kiwis, oranges, bananas, strawberries, tamarind pulp, dried cranberries because I’m not going to go hunting for blueberries out of season, and an eggplant.

Took a lot less than I thought it would. One apple, one kiwi, one orange, one banana, half a pound of strawberries, and a handful of dried fruit sufficed.

Helps when one has a nice sharp paring knife to make thin slices.

Attempted recreation of an AI fruit platter styled on a dragon. Thin orange slices and thin skin-on kiwi slices are in staggered stacks on the edge of the plate. Eight sliced banana disks are near the base for both Chinese numerology reasons and to represent a hope for wealth from the gold-edged bananas. The body of the dragon is roughly made from strawberries and apples. Eight black triangles of eggplant, for ornamental value, are the spikes on the back of the dragon. Two small kiwi wedges serve as eyebrows over eyes made from discs of apple and a dot of tamarind as a pupil. Cranberries are spread around the base of the dragon. Eight dots of tamarind pulp fill empty space on the dish. Staged on a cutting board with cut fruit pieces above the fruit plate.

I went to a local grocery store, bought fruit… mostly.. and went to work!

I’m not expert at cooking, nor do I have skill with food art, so it ain’t perfect, but at least it’s real and it’s tasty.
