#GreatResignation

Companies that fail to adapt risk higher disengagement, lower productivity, and declining morale. The movement underscores a cultural shift toward work-life balance, prioritizing well-being over burnout.

Forbes and the Atlantic called it the during the period during -19 when workers were able to find better jobs because a population equivalent to around 15% of the American had died of a somewhat preventable airborne illness for which our government was too incompetent to coordinate a proper response.

The true great resignation is what the have decided to do in the face of and attack on worker protections and democracy

Charles Spurgeon, particular Baptist preacher, considers caring for the ill in a town in economic distress. To understand suffering, climb rickety stairs. Put yourself by sympathy on their bed, suffer and feel the pains.

Many with no patience for “peace and justice” may be better at this ministry of caring than bleeding heart activists.

"You and I may not be tortured with the pangs of sickness or the weakness of decay, but to climb some three pairs of stairs to a miserable back room, and to see a child of God patient in his tribulation, and to put ourselves by sympathy upon his bed, and suffer and smart with him, may give us the next best thing to the experience itself."

Kein Witz! Aber auch keine Pointe.

'#GreatResignation' enters third year as #workers embrace AI, upskilling, PwC says
Around 28% of more than 56,000 workers surveyed by PwC said they were "very or extremely likely" to move from their current companies, compared to 19% in 2022, and 26% in 2023.
"The findings suggest that job satisfaction is no longer enough." In order to retain talent and mitigate pressures, Stubbings said #employers must invest in staff and tech platforms.

With capital investments and true assets such as machines, real estate, business processes and intellectual property... it is reasonable (and expected) to maximize productive use and return on capital.

Humans are not capital. People are not assets.

A foundational principle of western capitalism is to maximize earnings from assets, maximize invested capital. This is what we do with machines, real estate, business processes, intellectual property. It leads to astonishing efficiencies that have raised the standard of living for society in general.

Reminder: Humans are not capital. People are not assets.

Words like 'Human Capital', 'Human Capital Management', 'People are our greatest asset' and even that one word 'employee' can lead to a perspective among owners and executives which makes it normal to treat people like machines whose productivity is to be maximized and then discarded.

Before I begin, here’s a quick social media tip: Every now and again, post something with a provocative title. It will surprise your supporters and rattle your detractors!

The tune from employers has shifted from “Nobody wants to work!” to “Nobody’s *qualified* to work,” and yet many of us continue to look for work. What’s their next excuse?

People at work expect to be treated as peers, not employees, regardless of their role in the company.

Business owners and executives who view themselves as entitled aristocrats will likely have a rough time of rejection from now on.

Now that business owners and executives can no longer provide for the long-term financial well-being of 'employees,' they are increasingly treated the same as anyone else; as peers in society with a different role, not an entitled aristocracy who deserve some greater privilege.

Myth: The company should provide for your financial security.

Long term financial security for employees is nearly impossible due to shifting customer preferences and investor demands for maximum profits.

That's why work and jobs are transactional now.

The modern equivalent of class-based society is Owners/Executives (Entitled Aristocracy) over Hourly Workers (Commoners). If you’re in an hourly wage job, do what you’re told and be grateful to have a job. People everywhere are rejecting this. Dignity and equality are more important than a job.

In Denmark: Queen abdicates, the party "Nye Borgerlige" is suddenly dissolved, leader of the government coalition party "Venstre" resigns shortly after having had sick leave for half a year. At the same time PM Mette Frederiksen scolds anyone who thinks of 4 day work week as a real strategy for thriving in the work places. Even #greatresignation is showing failing #equity
