The image depicts the London British Museum, an architectural marvel with neoclassical design elements. The building features grand columns and a symmetrical façade, characteristic of Greek Revival architecture from the late 18th to early 19th centuries. A large courtyard is visible in front of the museum's entrance, bordered by a well-maintained fence that encloses manicured lawns. The photograph captures the museum on an overcast day with soft lighting and long shadows stretching across the ground. In the foreground, a street runs alongside the British Museum walls, where a lone pedestrian walks along a paved path lined with lampposts. This vintage image likely dates from around 1890 to 1900, showcasing London's historical landmarks during that period in England.

The former Maryhill Primary School on Viewmount Drive. Built around 1881, it's one of the few Greek Revival style schools constructed by the Glasgow School Board and is thought to have been designed by T.L. Watson.

The former Saint Jude's Church on West George Street in Glasgow. Designed by John Stephen in a Greek Revival style, it was built in 1838. This is a stunning building with a remarkably timeless look to it.

The Greek Revival masterpiece (mixed with Egyptian motifs) that is Millbrae Crescent in Langside in Glasgow.

Despite dating from 1876 (the year after he died), it has an incredibly strong Alexander 'Greek' Thomson vibe to it. This is because it was most likely designed either by Thomson himself or by Robert Turnbull, Thomson's architectural partner.

🇬🇷 This is how the German architect & painter Leo von Klenze imagined the ancient Acropolis of Athens in 1846.

As an architect, von Klenze was one of the most prominent representatives of the Greek Revival style.

The construction of the most important buildings on the Acropolis began in the fifth century BC. It suffered significant damage during the 1687 siege by the Venetians.
