I am so glad to see one since I mainly see brown anoles now!
This one is hunting on my pepper plants!

Nice healthy green anole viewed from side, perched on the curved stem of a bell pepper leaf. Not sure if it is a young male or an adult female. White brick wall in background.

Hurray!

Also, one of my flower pots was growing . . . this?๐Ÿ˜ณ

Adult female green anole, clinging to a vertical branch with her nose pointing downward, gives you the lizard side-eye. You are interrupting her hunt for bugs!Looking down at a terracotta flower pot with holes drilled in it sitting in water that reflects the sky & foliage above it. Out of one of the holes sticks an odd protuberance like an elongated egg. It is actually the tip of a mushroom! It is sticking out at about a 90ยฐ angle and looks pretty amusing!

You're on my turf.

This is a green anole, those of you from the southeast United States probably already know, because there are a lot of them down here. They are notorious for their territorialism. Around my house, one claims the back yard gate, one claims the potted plant next to my backdoor, another the other potted plant, and I could go on. This one, I believe is the monarch of one of the rocking chairs on the porch of my wife's shop. Another interesting thing is that they change colors, I've read that has to do with mood; but I've noted things like they are usually a dark color as shown here when on dark colors such as red brick and a grass green when on my white fence or on plants.

"The green anole (scientific name: Anolis carolinensis) is a species of reptile found in areas of Tennessee, Texas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana and the Carolinas. In fact, itโ€™s the only kind of anole that is native to the United States." - reptiledirect.com

This lizard is on the concrete porch of my wife's quilting shop facing the brick wall. In the frame, the head is facing right, and the tail is facing left. Hits dark head is raised as if looking up and its protruding frog like black right eye shines in the light. There is a white stripe down its spine. Its legs and feet are slayed out on either side. The tail is nearly twice as long as its body and lays straight back on the concrete.

"The green anole is a small to medium-sized lizard with a slender body. It has a long and pointed head with ridges between the eyes and nostrils, and smaller ones on the top of the head. The toes have adhesive pads to facilitate climbing. They exhibit sexual dimorphism, with males being fifteen percent larger than females.
The green anole can change its color to several shades from brown to green. Other names include Carolina anole, Carolina green anole, American anole, American green anole, North American green anole and red-throated anole. Green anoles are insectivores and their prey items of choice include crickets, mealworms, waxworms and farm-raised maggots." - wikipedia.org
