For #GrindayFriday this week, a big favorite since discovering them a year ago- New York's LIPOMA. Lipoma is one dude (Max Pierce) who writes & records all this. I mentioned Lipoma in April, but today new LP 'No Cure for the Sick' is out and it's DAMN great. More melodic, unique guitar riffing, and some really wild, odd stuff on this one - one song has organ in it. With pathological goregrind vocals. 😂 Weird, gross, wonderful.

This #GrindayFriday, a split. I featured Nyctophagia (deathgrind from Ohio) here in August 2024. Nyctophagia has a new split from earlier this year featuring them and Seeping Protoplasm from Tokyo.

Seeping Protoplasm are great on their own, and putting them with Nyctophagia here makes for a killer split. Not many splits where BOTH bands are amazing. 6 tracks, less than 12 minutes.

Ichikawa, Japan's FAILED TREATMENT don't fuck around when it comes to the gross and depraved. Lots of that here. Guitars have a really great, truly grindy sound. Very riffy. Roaring, bellowed vocals. For this #GrindayFriday, something that came out just five years ago but should already be considered a classic. Seattle, Washington's CAUSTIC WOUND gave us this brutal, crushing riffy LP 'Death Posture' in 2020. They have a new one coming end of April-- they're a band to watch. Cropping the cover here, as it's a bit morbid, fair warning. Few songs are over or even reach two minutes long. I love albums that get to the point and don't give up til the end.
