A top of the table clash in the United Counties League Division One as Stapleford Town (3rd) took on Retford United (2nd) at the Hickings Lane Sports Pavilion. The game definitely lived up to it's top billing as The Saxons won 3-2 (att: 234) to leapfrog The Badgers into second spot. Retford though did come from 2-0 down to be level at half time before Stapleford bagged a second half winner. Lovely stuff indeed #Groundhopping #AnyHubInAStorm

Back on the #RoadToWembley and it was an all Championship FA Cup 4th Round tie at The Racecourse where #Wrexham progressed to the 5th Round for the first time in 29 years thanks to a 1-0 win over a lacklustre #Ipswich Town (att: 10,496). A superb move was finished off by Josh Windass (34') to give The Dragons victory in an otherwise forgettable game #Groundhopping #FNF #EmiratesFACup

A #FloodlightFriday RIP for two of the ‘giraffes’ at the Friedrich-Ludwig-Jahn-Sportpark in Berlin. I hear they were torn down this week as part of the park’s redevelopment. Two will stay, apparently. That’s the Berlin Wall there. I took this shot in 2017. #groundhopping

So I took a walk around Vallecas today ahead of Rayo x Oviedo (which has since fallen victim to the weather) 🌧️ This is the spot where the club was founded in 1924, plus some important murals around the ground. ⚡️ #groundhopping

Just took a walk around the Estadio Bernabéu. I’ve not been to a match here since I was a student in 1996/97 and paid just 1,000ptas (£5/€6) to stand and twice that to sit. Amazing! I prefer the original exposed, raw concrete with those San Siro-esque round gangways visible, tbh. #groundhopping
