This was my first decent, proper go at @ardour on #UbuntuStudio
...its just a dirge of effected guitar jamming through the Line 6 Helix. Now what is weird is how the Helix isnt class compliant (as far as I know) ..which means someone with the UbStu developers is using the Helix.

Anyway, nearly 7 minutes of me making a fool of myself on the Palm Bay.

Built a DarkGlass B3K clone a couple of years ago. It's back on my bench, it stopped working. Let's fix that and maybe also upgrade the masking tape design. Looks really #DIY though.

Also got two of these in for repairs. They belong to Marc from #PerimeterAudio. The left one, a modded Taiwan version, had a loose solder joint somewhere. Easy fix, also converted it to PSA standard. The left one is a fully original Japan version that I left untouched. It sounded sputtery but this is because he used it with a 9v adapter and without a daisy chain.

Bumped into another analog delay, this time from the Ibanez 10 series. Picked it up yesterday, works like a charm and self-oscillates like a eeerrm champ.

This is practically the same delay as a vintage AD-9 but then much cheaper. And I have a personal affection with the 10 series. If I come across an interesting one and it's not too expensive I'll buy it. Luckily I bought my MT10s and TS10 years ago before prices started to soar.

Linux and building guitar pedals, seems I'm not the only one. Unfortunately I'm not a kernel developer, if I were I would've certainly send Linus an email. From what I've heard and read Aion offers very nice kits.

Did some more research and the PCB numbers match with Taiwanese units made until 1994. So it's definitely a Made In Taiwan (MIT) pedal.

Checked the internals. Input and output jacks look OK. I guess it's the footswitch that is causing issues, it has completely fallen apart, hence all the tape. It has to be replaced. Other than that there's not much wrong with it. Sounds great, time to start a Nirvana tribute band.

Checked the serial number, 109115, and that's from September 1981. That can't be true, this is definitely a Taiwanese version, even the serial sticker says so. But the PCB version is from 1984. Oh I love these kinds of little mysteries hidden in such a small object.
