We got challenged to make the negative pull-ups as slow as we could. First two rounds I managed to go down in 30", the last two that didn't happen anymore 😅

The regulars at the gym I go to twice a week have noticed no real new year resolution driven surge of new members this year... and we wondered why?

Our best guess was the impact of weight-loss drugs; giving people a different route rather than gym training, to pushing weight loss as a news year commitment.

Not sure if that accounts for all of the absence(s) but it is very noticeable this year compared to others.

First part was some strength - strict press.
4x 5 Strict Presses @ 62% 1RM. That's 26kg for me... which felt light. But the test last week I got max 43kg, so ... I guess it's right?

The #workout was "Open 18.4 / Open 20.3"

* 21-15-9 Deadlifts @ 85kg
* 12 - 9 - 6 Kipping Handstand Push-Ups (using plates, so a height of 8cm + a mat)

* 21-15-9 Deadlifts @ 125kg
* 2 wall walks per set

I got to 8 deadlifts of 125kg.

This was the first time I did the kipping handstand push-ups in a #wod, and they went fairly well! First 12 unbroken, 9 was 6 and 3, I toppled over after my last one.

Where are the #gymrats at on here? Any goals for this year?

(I have found #gym but it's quiet!)

Mine are:
* Bench 1.5 bodyweight (managed 1x fairly quickly)
* 15 pull ups (current max 10)
* Handstand/back bend progression (program recommendations welcome)
* Do running better
