Game 7. I have a deep sense of foreboding today. It's funny how a sport and a team, things that in the big scheme of the world are almost meaningless can affect you emotionally. I guess we need heroes an villains in our lives, high drama.

Kids today don't know they're born. Back in my day, we didn't have any of this 'second chance' crap. We made our picks, we published and then we watched on in horror as our entire bracket fell apart in front of our eyes.

@wpgguy Agreed. A big difference is the format though. During the regular season there is little incentive to target star player because you don’t play them again. In playoffs you get immediate benefit if that player is either out of the lineup or diminished. Not sure the answer other than to have a few big hitters in the lineup. May not help win the presidents cup but is almost necessary for a playoff run.

I’m going to just say it, the #NHL playoffs are often not fun to watch. When it becomes more of a ‘take the opponent out of the game’ rather than play the damn game I am just not here for it. Heavy hits, aggressive play for the puck, I’m all in but deliberate attempts to seriously injure opponents, not so much. This starts to become the old “Broad Street bullies” type of game that got cleaned up years ago. If anyone wants that go watch roller derby…
