After trying in vain to find a nice embroidery idea, I just came up with my own. Is it objectively very good embroidery? Probably not. Did I de-wrinkle my brain by doing it instead of something else? Yes. Would a plan or more thread options have helped? Yes. Is it now on there? Certainly! 😆

The thread has a slight variegation between pale gold and rose gold, and it is currently becoming a leaf via blanket stitch. There's so faint messy pencil scribbles on the fabric.

The leaf has turned into one of two leaves, a flower cluster, and one flower with only its calyxes and such hanging out slightly above it, currently lacking stem and petals. The finished bloom look like it could be some kind of weird arid region plant, but who can say. It's cute but also not very balanced, and the stitches go every which way. There is the possibility it will become a balanced piece, but it's not there yet. Sini's pale fingies in frame.

I've just started handsewing a backpack, so I don't really need another handsewing project, right?

well…

the backpack is at a stage where I have to think, and today I'm not really able to think, and also it's somewhat heavy sewing, and sometimes I'd prefer to do something lighter, so my plan was to have a second project to alternate it with.

something quick and easy, right? of course not :D

what about dealing with 4.5 meters of lightweight fabric, hemming all of it and then bringing it down to 36ish cm? That's more like it :D

I've decided to make a shirt by following the instructions for a 16th century hemd, except in cotton voile, and a bit shorter so that I can tuck it into my jeans if I want.

The first page of the comic with Fraser the cat trapped inside a giant puddle, but all is not lost as Fraser’s ears are still pointy…not pointy enough to escape but impressive nonetheless.

Here is a close up of the puddle, showing that it is able to travel through the forest due to many microscopic spider threads pulling it along. Meanwhile, Tso and the blue fox have sensed Fraser is in danger and are on the case.

The middle pages of the zine featuring a spider pandemonium! They are flying everywhere and full of blue fox powers.

Hm, ... Ich weiß wohl nicht, was ich davon halten soll oder damit anstellen kann, aber das Teil fühlt sich in den Händen gut an.

Ein paar Fadenreste aus der textilen "Mülltüte" wurden auf einem Viertel eines Taschentuchs zum Umhäkeln aufgenäht.

They're not going to be the neatest things, but let me tell you with doubled up linen thread these are going to be STURDY.

The corset is a light one and closes with buttons, so buttonhole time it is!

A very close up photo of a tailor's buttonhole sewn onto a white linen cotton twill fabric, the front edge of what is a corset but could not be recognised as such based on this photo alone. It is tiny, quite tidily done, but also with such coarse and thick, slightly fuzzy linen thread, that it looks more utilitarian than pretty. There's a bunch of different markings on the white fabric, as where the buttonholes wanted to go was up in the air for a while. There's multiple lines of reinforcement top stitching by machine, also. The stitches themselves are tiny and closely spaced. Sini's pink fingertips, oval natural nails, and the pointy end of thread snips in the frame.

I ordered a new linen longshirt. Made from historical pattern from the place my grandma lives. As I received the shirt, I discovered that to adapt the patern to modern production speeds all the little reinforcement patches at the end of the slits are gone. But it's a beautiful shirt and nice linen, and I want to wear it for years. So what did I do? – found a linen scrap and sew the reinforcements. I really don't want to tear the front slit accidentally down or smth. #HistorBounding #HandSewing

Sleeve (lower part) of a white whirt layed on a flat surface. There is visible 1 button closing the sleevecap and a slit ending in a diagonally places reinforcement square. Reinforcement is attached with almost invisible stitches.

Straight seam (it is a side seam) ending with a slit. Reinforcement patch here is again diagonally turned square, but the corner next to the slit is folded down, turning the square into pentagon. Patch is attached with small whipstitch.

Tänkte fota två handsydda hängselsärkar som jag gjort. Jag gillar ju att fota, men problemet med att fota kläder är att jag själv måste vara med på bild. Hålla reda på ljus, skärpa, plaggen, mig själv och inte minst den bångstyriga luggen. Svårt!

ENG: I did these two handsewn shifts and thought I would take some photos of them. I like photography but I don't like to try to capture myself when I do it. It is just too much to think about: The light, the focus, the garments, me, my hair wich almost never behaves as I wish it to.
