I always find #landscape #photography difficult to make work. It's so hard to ground… the ground.
But sometimes, I find a way through.

Seen on #walk with the @Metwalkers

View of a number of green fields, first sloping down to a hedge of trees and bushes, then sloping up with long fences snaking across the rising and uneven ground towards another line of trees. Horses are dotted around the spacious fields.

There must be some part of this story I'm missing. It sounds bonkers as is.

"A #Jewish mother cleared over a #school WhatsApp dispute has told Jewish News she was questioned in custody about ordinary faith-related interactions – including her offer to help with #HolocaustMemorialDay and her request to withdraw her daughter from #Christianprayer.

Rosalind Levine, from #Borehamwood, was #arrested in January after #CowleyHill Primary School claimed a series of #WhatsApp messages and emails amounted to harassment. The allegations were later dismissed, #Hertfordshire #Police conceded the arrest “did not meet the legal criteria”, and Levine received £20,000 in damages.

But Levine said she was stunned to discover through subject access requests that the school had also passed unrelated #religious interactions to #police as part of the same complaint."

It’s always a moody pea-souper the day after Bonfire Night and I love it

A black and white photo of a foggy Garden City. Trimmed hedges frame two benches, and a row of evenly spaced trees lines both sides of the grassy area, becoming more obscured by the fog as they go into the distance. Buildings and cars can be faintly seen in the background.

In #Hertfordshire a bad #driver ignored the zebra crossing and nearly collided with the lollipop lady (school crossing guard), she was wearing a #bodycam (which is increasingly common nowadays) and the footage has been sent to the #Police (its a serious traffic offence to drive like that)

Uno, which runs bus services across #Hertfordshire and several #Transport for #London (TfL) routes, is recruiting PCV licence holders for its expanding operations. From December 2025, the company will launch the new 292 route, serving the Borehamwood area and complementing existing TfL routes including the 298 between Potters Bar, Cockfosters, Southgate and Arnos Grove, and the 383 between Barnet and Finchley. Vacancies are available across all these routes, operating from the Hatfield Depot. Uno has announced new pay rates for its drivers: £18.33 per hour Monday to Friday, and £19.10 on Saturdays. The company invites experienced drivers to join its growing London bus team ahead of the 292 route’s introduction.

To mark 100 years since Croxley and Watford stations opened on the Metropolitan line on 2 November 1925, #Transport for #London (TfL), #Hertfordshire County Council and the #Museum of Watford are hosting free celebrations on Sunday 2 November, 10:30–15:00 at Watford Underground. Visitors can explore a living exhibition, create Metro-land postcards, meet the station manager, and join a waitlist for historical tours of both stations (11:00–14:00). The event highlights the stations’ role in connecting Hertfordshire and northwest London to central London and celebrates their local heritage.

I saw many things whilst walking the hills and canal from Tring to Berkhampstead yesterday.

But this is what stood out most

“During a conversation with the Chicago Tribune in 1998, #RobertPlant said: “I find him a good man, but I feel that his integrity is now questionable. If #Whitesnake was a real young band who had just seen The Song Remains the Same and decided, ‘OK, this is it, let’s imitate them,’ I could understand it.”

Adding: “There was a time, years ago, that I tried to mimic Elvis Presley. That’s quite acceptable. But #DavidCoverdale’s nearly my age. He is of my genre, even if he was in a lot of substandard groups. Really, you shouldn’t do it to your own gang, you know. When I aped somebody, they were so remote, it was like they were millions of miles away.”

Whitesnake, a poor mans imitation of Led Zeppelin. 🐍

Case in point, Cashmere (LZ) vs Judgment Day (WS) <youtu.be/A1gnlIOPgE0?si=lCpn8i> Did Zeppelin rip their sound, lyrics from their R&B/Blues ancestors? Yes, but they did the tunes justice.
