La campaña huye de descripciones concretas y precisas y más que una carencia es una virtud que recupera una simplicidad y libertad que se estaba perdiendo en el rol moderno. Thanks to the folks at our #osr open table, I had the chance to playtest another hex of my #osr hexcrawl which is set in a fantastic version of late 14th century CE #EastFrisia (Late Medieval Fantastic Campaign LMFC: Frisia Orientalis). Again, I used the #Warlock! rules set for playtesting which went really well. The setting for the #hexcrawl draws on the history of the Frisian peninsula (c. 1390-1420) and local folklore.

Coming Soon: Der Kritische Fehldruck Ausgabe 1!!!

Vielleicht ist euch geneigten Leser:innen aufgefallen, dass hier gerade etwas weniger gepostet wird. Wir haben den Blog immer noch lieb, aber sind nur gerade wahnsinnig mit einigen anderen Projekten beschäftigt. Seba im Besonderen entwickelt und playtestet Gassenhunde und startet einen Podcast. Und wir alle sind außerdem ganz fleißig in der Erstellung unseres ersten Zines!!

Wir freuen uns sehr, Ausgabe 1 des “Kritischen Fehldrucks” anzukündigen, der rechtzeitig zur Einreichung beim Fanzine-Wettbewerb von System Matters fertig sein wird. Die Texte sind alle fertig, lektoriert und korrigiert, ein Layout-Entwurf mit stolzen 36 Seiten steht auch bereits und es fehlt nur noch die letzte Fahnenkorrektur, ehe alles zur Druckerei geht.

Das Thema des Zines sind Kampagnen. Es ist unser großes Ziel, damit Spielleitenden, die das erste Mal eine Kampagne starten wollen, die Angst zu nehmen und praktische Werkzeuge an die Hand zu geben. Kurz, prägnant, und am Spieltisch nutzbar – wie auch die Artikel in unserem Blog.

Worauf könnt ihr euch freuen? Es gibt Texte zu Kampagnentypen, wie man schnell ein Setting erstellt, actionreiche Kampagnenstarter, und wie man die Charaktere der Gruppe passend zur Kampagne baut. Bösewichte und Fraktionen sowie das Domänenspiel dürfen auch nicht fehlen. Dann noch zwei Texte zur Gestaltung von Karten und Hexcrawling und ein Praxisbeispiel einer schnell gebauten Kampagne. Und zum Abschluss noch ein historischer Rückblick auf Kampagnen im bekanntesten Rollenspiel der Welt.

Wir freuen uns sehr darauf, demnächst unseren Erstling in den Händen halten zu können. Und wir hoffen, dass euch das Zine gefällt und unterhält, euch Ideen liefert und zum Leiten von Kampagnen anregt.

Thanks to our #osr open table, I had the opportunity today to test my historically inspired #hexcrawl (still in early development): Late Medieval Fantastic Campaign – Frisia Orientalis. It was fun. My impression is that the approach of merging historical information (NW Germany around 1400 CE) with elements from local folklore let to a pretty gameable result. For the playtest, we used Greg Saunders’ Warlock! rules system. First time I ran a game of Warlock! Impressive love letter to #wfrpg
