My first successful attempt at growing #hollyhocks. I got the seeds from our local library's seed exchange (sadly no longer operating), and the donor said they were from Waimate Mission in Northland.

A pink hollyhock flower in the late morning light on a sunny day. The five petals overlap and will contract and close up tight when it is time for seeds to form. There are 4 or so buds of flowers that will emerge soon above the flower on the stalk. In the background on the left center and lower there are green trees. On the right and lower is a silver birch tree with some kind of spruce behind it making the lower part look more lush with foliage. The lower background is various foliage and flowers. The upper background is blue sky with wispy clouds and a few small poofy ones. All of the background is out of focus.

Surprise, a different hollyhock without the critter we shall not mention to cause unnecessary triggering of filters.

A light and dark pink hollyhock flower. It is the last flower on this stalk. The tips of the petal are light pink and nearer the center it is a darker pink with even darker nectar guides. There is a gatepost with wood cap to the left, willow trees beyond it and the flower, blue sky with wispy clouds above, there are dried hollyhock seed pods behind the flower and to the right farther away many drying hollyhock plants.

Took some photos of the bumblebee while I was waiting for it to be on it's way.
