My on-going effort to empty the TiVo has lead to #Homefront (2014), where the wooden Jason Statham is horrendously mis-cast in what is clearly a 1990s Jean-Claude van Damme movie. (It was originally supposed to be Stallone, I read; but swapping to Statham didn't make the character work.)
It's also another occasion where 'wholly unnecessary sex scene' and 'James Franco' go in the same sentence. It's a scene that adds nothing to the plot nor to either of Franco's or Winona Ryder's characters, and as pretty much the only sex reference in the entire movie could have been cut without changing the character of the movie at all.
If you've seen Hard Target, this is basically the same thing but with a wholly dislikeable and unsympathetic leading character and added James Franco. It's not worth it.

C’est facile mais vous n’y échapperez pas, Ô Auditrices et Teurs, tant les raisons de rigoler aux dépens des intellectuels de notre temps se font rares. En guise d’intello, on a Jordan « crâne d’oeuf » B. (notre photo, garantie sans trucage), toujours à l’affût d’une bonne occase pour se faire remarquer, en bon influenceur des rézosocios qu’il est – d’ailleurs il se voit déjà président de touitère et tiquetoque réunis, c’est dire son destin grandiose.
Du côté Pyongyang City Rockers on ne marchera pas sur des oeufs, ce sori ça sera plutôt omelettes punk, tortillas oi!, îles flottantes hardcore et autres dégustations bruitistes.

Home Front Drops Final Single “Between The Waves” Ahead Of New Album
Photo by Kate SuterHome Front, the Edmonton post-punk/synth-punk duo, has shared their final single, “Between The Waves,” from their highly anticipated second album, Watch It Die, due this Friday via La Vida Es Un Mus. The track explores themes of the solitary journey of seeking meaning, or “the lonely journey we all take… to remember who we are.” Fusing Oi! punk energy with bloopy new wave electronics and tight hooks, the song is a reflection on transformation and moving forward in “new skin,” a central theme of their acclaimed punk-pop crossover record.
