Having a depressing morning.

It's been heartbreaking to see the same unhoused folks camped out on steam vents; tethered there as the days grow colder.

I've spent the past few weeks looking into places near me that I can volunteer at like food banks / food kitchens but there isn't really anything in center city.

I looked into what services the city offers/ what orgs needs help and almost all are religious institutions or 'work programs'

I'm not here to bash others 'trying' to help but I'm at a point where we need to seriously start investing in community organizing that treats people's immediate needs on a mutual aid basis and not a coercive 'work or die' or 'you must be saved spiritually first' relationship.

If you want to help feed houseless people check out South Philly Punks With Lunch. They feed people 3 times a week and don't ask any questions.
