A group of horseshoe crabs partially submerged in shallow, foamy water along a rocky shoreline during spawning season. Their hard, domed shells glisten with moisture and are clustered closely together.

I recently spent a couple of evenings with NYC's Urban Park Rangers observing, counting, collecting data, and tagging Horseshoe Crabs. They are amazing animals, and I am more awed each time I see them.
