#IGES

After a bunch of attempts to fix mistakes I'd made while making this model with , I finally managed to export a file that opens without any issues in every program I've tried. The best part is that it doesn't throw any errors when I use 's TechDraw Anyway, the file is now flawless, no problems at all!

Anyway, don't even peek at the geometry nodes of add-on, it might give you a headache, and you risk not finding your way out! That's how it is for every surface, it's packed with nodes and math. It's mind-blowing to think that everything was built using geometry nodes.

The add-on for can now import files as actual NURBS , not meshes. It's the biggest leap forward has seen in years when it comes to Nurbs, and it's awesome to finally be able to bring in or surfaces. It works on Linux, Windows, and macOS too, a huge step for the Blender community!

@LThiry

#Pflegebedürftigkeit durch #Prävention VERHINDERN - das hatte ich so noch gar nicht auf dem Schirm.

Here's an old guide I rewrote for a user who asked me how to convert mesh files made with subdivision surfaces into format. It's a method that relies on free apps. That way, you can bring those mesh files with subdivision surfaces right into your software.

I’ve added the option to use a custom mesh and apply a displacement effect to it. In this case, I created a very simple bag and applied a texture using an image. Now, the geometry nodes in 5.0 offer greater flexibility, allowing me to work with image textures more effectively.

Between last night and today, I created a geometric node for , which is now complete and lets you generate geometries. The node was designed to meet the needs of programs, and in this latest version, you can also use an image to create specific geometries that can be exported to format using subdivision surfaces.

Hey, I’ve been running some tests and found that export only works if you convert to PsychoPatch. So, I’ll need to install that add-on. For now, this solution seems like a decent compromise, and I reckon a lot of folks in the industry might find it interesting, at least until Francesco Siddi, the new CEO, decides it’s time to give some love to this part of that’s been neglected for 20 years.

Hey everyone, a guy is working on an add-on that converts SubD into NURBS surfaces in , and I’d say it’s off to a great start! Plus, he’s also developing a way to export these as multiple patches.

Sooner or later I will be able to do it, for now it seems that something is improving, I managed to create an file exported directly by , and also a file always with the same add-on.

I've asked to , an add-on to export to from , the add-on managed to export something to both IGES and STEP, there are no errors, the exported files contain data structures but unfortunately any app managed to open those, although that seem like a failure, it's not, in fact it is the first time that I get an add-on that exports both in and in directly from without using external library, maybe next time I could be able to have a working add-on.

Here a little guide on how import a surfaces ready for Subdivision Modifiers, isn't always a suitable workflow, but can help maybe in some cases.

OK I found a way to import files into with the same topology as Nurbs surfaces, as soon as I have done some tests I will make a post on Aritst to share this workaround, this allow the use of SubD modifiers on original Nurbs imported as OBJ in
