@jannem @rayckeith … worse yet is the FOMO (from professional coaches!): "You have to use AI or get left behind!" 🤦‍♀️

Our profession is deeply human: intuitive, empathetic, sensing between the words, things the speaker cannot see themself.

That's what my clients value in our work. Oh and also, the courage to challenge them, to call clients on the out-of-date or untrue stories they tell themselves. No "agreeable" chatbot gives them that.

Stond vanmorgen ineens een kleuter van vorig jaar voor mijn neus. Ik vertelde toen het sprookje van De Kleine Zeemeermin en omdat ik naar Kopenhagen ging, maakte ik ook een foto van het beeld om te laten zien.

Hij ging in de zomervakantie ook naar Kopenhagen en het hele gezin MOEST en ZOU naar dat standbeeld voor een foto.

Hij gaf me met een stralend hoofd een envelop met de boodschap 'ik weet dat je hier heel blij van wordt!'

Hopefully this will wake my colleagues up. Ours is a profession requiring deep trust and confidentiality. Meta products do not allow this.

I was wary about delving into this - it feels awkward to discuss "I want more from my employer" in front of students. But when that employer pushes things to the point where the students' term may be disrupted, I owe them a frank discussion of how we can deal with this.
