I created a "Kind of Silent" playlist to feed my obsession w/ #MilesDavis In A Silent Way. Selections echo the vibe of the OG (nothing matches exactly): ethereal, proto-ambient, hypnotic, unhurried, spacious, serene, blissful, genre fluid. For patient listening, focused work, or insomnia. YT & spotify links below. Other songs that fit?

(now with hashtags!) I'm just discovering #MilesintheSky, #MilesDavis's 1969 record. I have long known Bitches Brew and In a Silent Way, from the same period. This one is a little more structured, but has similar feel, bridging the divide between #jazz & R&B. I'm really enjoying it. thanks to #IanCarr's detailed biography of #Miles barnesandnoble.com/w/miles-dav #fusion

#NowPlaying Ian Carr with Nucleus - Labyrinth (Vertigo, UK 1973).

“The inspiration of this work is the myth of the Minotaur.” Well, the artwork should have put me on the right track 😄

Great album by the way.

A hero of the London experimental music scene once objected to my defending the late 70s Soft Machine, saying that band might as well be #Nucleus. He had somehow neglected to note that they were fucking amazing.

#TradeUnion #polytechnic college progressive jazz was always a good idea.

Been listening to #iancarr today - Belladonna from 1972. Very electric #milesdavis style trumpet with echo/ reverb but in a polite British way - laid back, stoned, washes of keys plus the occasional acid funk track. Recommended
