Being a jerk and pretending that nothing is your fault doesn't mean you are "tough".
History will be much more generous to Volodymyr Zelenskyy than to Donald Trump.

Leaked stats on Russian casualties. Keep in mind that this is just part of the overall picture.
But still, some stats are astonishing. Like: 34 Major Generals had been wounded, and that doesn't include any new stats since June of 2024.
Russia isn't in as strong a position as Trump wants people to believe.

It's becoming clear that Ukraine is one of the few issues that may cause a breach between some Capitol Hill Republicans and Trump. On the Senate floor, Sen. Thom Tillis (R-NC) called Putin "a cancer and the greatest threat to democracy in my lifetime".
Trump could lose any showdown with Congress on Ukraine.

@timkmak
If Rubio, acting for the Trump-Musk régime, attempts to impose a settlement on Ukraine, we should give him the nickname "Munich Marco".
It's long overdue for Europe to get its act together; it's now or never guys and gals. 🇪🇺

The protective shield at Chernobyl which keeps radiation from escaping was hit by a Russian drone.
The 1986 Chernobyl disaster was the result of Soviet incompetence.
If radiation does escape, it is most likely to affect Putin's alliy in Belarus – just across the border from the shuttered nuclear reactor.

In spirit, this cartoon by Clay Jones is not far from the truth.
Putin has now been in power for 25 years. He may be trying to beat Stalin's total of 29 years.

Apparently Syrian rebels captured an advanced Russian air-defense system. I may not be happy about the ideology of the rebels, but if they use the system to shoot down Russian aircraft allied with the Syrian régime, that means fewer Russian planes for Ukraine to worry about.
Putin now has to deal with 2 wars at the same time.

@September_UA The DPRK gets air defense missiles it may never use – except to show off.
Russia gets as many as 10,000 foreign substitutes for Russian casualties which will alleviate the country's labor shortage temporarily. When those Koreans return home in coffins in large numbers, Kim will realize what a terrible deal he made. And if those DPRK troops turn out to be as useless as the Russians, Kim will lose face and feel publicly humiliated.

@September_UA
Is there a Korean expression for "meat wave"?
I'm betting that the North Koreans will be as hapless as the Russians – but in a different way.

@arstechnica South Korea is allegedly considering sending troops to Ukraine. Probably not a great idea with the exception of psy-ops and weapons specialists. Support for Ukraine in S. Korea will decline if its troops are dying there.
A better idea is to give Ukraine longer range missiles to take out rail and road links between North Korea and Russia.
