Ich war noch nie im "Orient", aber einige Völker haben ja wunderschöne Spuren islamischer Kunst in Europa hinterlassen, wie hier in der #Alhambra. Später #FensterFreitag und so.

I've never been to the "Orient", but some cultures of the Eastern world have left behind stunning legacies in Europe for me to admire, such as here at the Alhambra. Also a late #WindowFriday I suppose.

An interior photograph of an intricately designed historical architectural space within the Alhambra in Granada, Spain. The image showcases a richly decorated room featuring Islamic architectural elements, such as horseshoe arches and elaborate stucco work. The walls and ceilings are adorned with detailed geometric patterns, arabesques, and calligraphic inscriptions, all meticulously carved into the plaster. The arches frame views of a lush courtyard filled with greenery, including trees and plants, which contrast beautifully with the earthy tones of the architecture. The floor is composed of patterned tiles, adding to the overall aesthetic harmony of the space. The lighting highlights the depth and intricacy of the carvings, creating a serene and majestic atmosphere.

Love this recently refurbished decorative ironwork on one of the mausoleums in the Necropolis, Glasgow's first major Victorian cemetery. There seems to be a definite influence of Islamic art to its design, especially in the latticework of the central arched panel.
