daily.jstor.org/enchanting-imp
+ Bibliotheca Fictiva

I am utterly opposed to hiding #academic papers behind paywalls. They are pretty much all funded (at least in part) by public money, so that information should be available to the public always and forever. That said, it is true, you can get a free #JSTOR "independent researcher" account with any email address that allows you to read 100 articles a month. This is awesome to get access to all these papers, you know, for my independent research. But, seriously, it's cool.

FYI #JSTOR offers a free account as an "Independent Researcher" with access to 100 documents per month.

Ugh, apparently #JStor is showing a new AI tool down our throats. Our resources admin says they may be able to turn it off, and while I would be good with that, I get the feel my other "more hip" colleagues will be all gung ho over it.

*sigh*

@seabass @pheonix IMHO #JSTOR's contents should be freely accessible to the public without any registration nor restrictions.

  • Obviously JSTOR filing charges started this!

@pheonix This is why #JSTOR's contents deserve to get #torrented and their infrastructure burn to the ground!

“To reduce exposure to harmful substances, producers must look beyond greenwashing and advocate for systemic change—whether through stricter regulations, scientific advancements in hazard assessment, or the revival of traditional, non-toxic alternatives. Until then, it remains up to consumers to critically assess the products they bring into their homes and onto their bodies.” daily.jstor.org/toxic-but-it-h via Daily
