Miles & Monk at Newport is a split album featuring separate performances by the Miles Davis sextet and the Thelonious Monk quartet at the Newport Jazz Festival. It was released in June 1964 by Columbia Records. Davis's set was recorded in 1958, and Monk's in 1963. Despite the album's title, the two artists do not perform together at either date.

On the first side of the LP was a series of high tempo performances of bebop tunes and other staples of the Davis live repertoire from 1958. The performance was contemporaneous with Davis' Milestones album...On the second side were a few numbers by Thelonious Monk's combo, from a 1963 Newport appearance. It featured an idiosyncratic appearance by clarinetist Pee Wee Russell. - Wikipedia

Rah is a 1961 studio album by Mark Murphy, arranged by Ernie Wilkins.

This was Murphy's first Riverside Records album, and he is supported by an orchestra including Bill Evans, Wynton Kelly, Urbie Green, Ernie Royal, Clark Terry and Jimmy Cobb.

The Allmusic review by Eugene Chadbourne awarded the album four stars and said that Rah "has worn well over the years...On tracks such as "Green Dolphin Street," he dives into the rhythm with the relaxed calm of an expert. And when the result can be the harebrained complexity of "Twisted" or the funky timing of "Doodlin'," the wisdom of letting the experts handle the hard work has never been more apparent" - Wikipedia

Adderly together with Jimmy Cobb, Paul Chambers, Wynton Kelly and John Coltrane. They all, plus Bill Evans, recorded Kind of Blue with Miles Davis at the time (1959).

Turning Point is an album by saxophonist Benny Golson, featuring performances recorded in late 1962 and originally released on the Mercury label.

This was the first of a pair of quartet recordings by Golson in two months. Golson was displeased with his playing at the time: "I was frustrated, because I didn't know how I wanted to sound"; he soon stopped playing, and did not resume for seven or eight years. The title, according to Golson, "indicates my frustration with [producer] Kay Norton and Art [Farmer, co-leader of the Jazztet], because we had reached a point where we wanted to go in different directions."

The Allmusic review states, "this quartet set for tenor saxophonist Benny Golson was the beginning of the close of an era. Within a year, Golson would be working full-time as a writer in the studios, and he de-emphasized his playing until making a comeback in the late 1970s". - Wikipedia

John Coltrane - Coltrane Jazz

Probably not the best title ever, this is the follow-on album from Giant Steps, released in 1961, but (mostly) recorded in '59.

Backing up Coltrane are the guys from Miles' band—Wynton Kelley (piano), Paul Chambers (bass) and Jimmy Cobb (drums).

A whole lot of good music, as you'd expect...in the same general mold as Giant Steps.

Art Pepper - Gettin' Together

Not quite sure what the recording order of this and the other just-before-60s-prison LPs was. This is with very close to the "Meets the Rhythm Section" group, and in similar style as well.

Added to Wynton Kelly (piano), Paul Chambers (bass), and Jimmy Cobb (drums), we’ve got Conte Candoli on trumpet.

Kenny Burrell & John Coltrane - s/t

Early set on Prestige with Burrell, Coltrane, Tommy Flanagan, Paul Chambers and Jimmy Cobb - recorded in 1958 but not released for some reason until 1963.

Mostly the same group as was featured on The Cats (mas.to/@dnanian/11169326144729), with similarly pleasing results. New remastering by Kevin Gray, nicely pressed and released by OJC.
