Orrick periodically surveys representative samples of people who show up for jury service to get a picture of their attitude towards the kinds of companies that can afford to hire a firm like theirs:

Their latest report contrasts the results of a pre-pandemic 2019 survey with a 2025 survey of 1,011 jurors in California, Florida, Kansas, Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Minnesota, Missouri, Texas, New Jersey, and New York.

They found that jurors' trust in the court system has plummeted since 2019 (67% in 2019, 48% in 2025); hostility to cops has tripled (11% to 33%); anti-corporate sentiment is way up (27% then, 45% now). The percentage of jurors who believe that they should use the courts to "sent messages to companies to improve their behavior" has risen from 58% to 62%; and 77% want to award punitive damages to "punish a corporation" (up from 69%).

And jurors are notably hostile to pharma companies, energy companies and large banks, but they especially hate social media companies.

6-25-2024 Gag order DECISION

The basis for the issuance of the Orders was to protect the integrity of the judicial proceedings. As this Court recognized in its Order of April 1, 2024, “the threats to the integrity of the judicial proceeding are no longer limited to the swaying of minds, but also to the willingness of individuals, both private and public, to perform their lawful duty before this Court.” Decision and Order dated April 1, 2024, p. 2. Both Orders were narrowly tailored to address the significant concerns regarding the Defendant’s extrajudicial speech. The Orders were overwhelmingly supported by the record, and it was upon that record that the Appellate Division First Department and the New York Court of Appeals kept the Orders intact. However, circumstances have now changed. The trial portion of these proceedings ended when the verdict was rendered, and the jury discharged. Therefore, Paragraph (a) is terminated without opposition by the People. As to Paragraph (c), while it would be this Court’s strong preference to extend those protections, the Court cannot do so on what is now a different record than what the appellate courts relied upon when the rendered their rulings. Therefore, Paragraph (c) must be terminated. -

Pragraph (b), this Court notes that while witness testimony has concluded, a verdict has been rendered, and the jury discharged - the proceedings are not concluded. This matter has been set down for the imposition of sentence on July 11, 2024.

Seriously, I served as a juror in a 3-day civil case in a minor property dispute. We were told not to interact with anybody in the courtroom unless the judge instructed us to do so; and that never happens except during juror screening.
Trump is just being a crybaby whiner again.
