I just finished the new #Karnivool album. They usually have one song on the album that I absolutely hate (it was "The Refusal" on the last album), but this album did not have one. I think "Salva" is my favorite track from this one.

Ok, I kinda remember why I stopped listening to these guys.

76 minutes of ponderous prog. Occasionally there's a cool bit that captures my attention, but then it disappears soon after.

The main vocal style isn't my sort of thing either.

I can see how some people might connect with this, but not really for me.

I have this on CD somewhere, and listened to it a bunch at the time, but hardly since.

I'll try the new album probably next.

#Karnivool are new to me... This just-released fourth album of theirs "IN Verses" is awesome! I can't recall the last time I listened to an album with this wide a dynamic range. Awesome writing, production etc.

I still find their recent overseas success sorta strange when I remember them as the OK prog band from Perth in the 00s.

Stayed up late to listen to new #Karnivool record, their first in 13 years. My favorite band.

It didn't have to be this good. I'm old enough to know how hard it is, how fleeting it is, and I no longer feel that any group "owes" the world more. But I'm overjoyed that it is.
