Los clips que genera la herramienta de screencasting de #GNOME están rotos, así que en #Kdenlive se rompen. Por suerte, el editor de vídeo tiene un mecanismo de "reparación" que funciona, aunque esta emplea x264 sobre GPU y ha transformado un fichero en VP8 de 7,2MB en otro en H.264 de 116MB, y con una duración de tan solo 30 segundos.

Al menos la "reparación" ha funcionado y el clip ha quedado perfecto para la edición. El coste merece la pena porque el resultado final, en AV1, es otra cosa.

Kdenlive really drive me nuts. First that stuff with the bezier curves which lets the new versio always crash, which means i cannot open my old projects. Than the export on my 8c/16t Laptop is so slow that i could render any frame by hand. Now i tried to export my project with the project archive feature, which crashes, no matter which settings i use. Okay so copy the project files by hand an then relocate them, which does not work for Image sequences. Great piece of software!

So gerade mal den Jahresrückblick für die Familie mal fertig gemacht. Mal wieder mit Kdenlive. Davon abgesehen das ich das Programm so selten nutze das ich quasi es jedes mal neu lernen muss hat die aktuelle Version nen nervigen Bug das das Bezier Kurven Plugin das Programm crashen lässt. Scheisse da man so auch keine alten Projekte mehr öffnen kann. Der Bug ist schon bekannt.

All that I typed, I deleted it. It doesn't matter. I'm not a new user. Did I edit a video? no. I didn't feel like editing a video after editing the interface to look like used to for the nth time. Congratulations new users for getting the things you want and won't use because you're always switching to something else. You, the Windows user who is so coveted and special that nobody else matters. Good job.

I am just finishing up my latest Linux tutorial video. I spent the entire day working on it.

I am getting better at editing. My biggest goal of this video is to remove the "ums" and silent pauses. I am eternally greatful for Kdenlive. The more I learn to use it, the more I enjoy it. It is very accessible. I have a lot more respect for professional video editors. You can spend many hours getting it perfect.

One thing I am trying to remember as I continue this journey is from Hank Green, who popularized the 80% rule. Basically, perfect should not be the enemy of good. It might not be perfect by an "ai's" standards, but it is 100% human made and that is what counts. With that said, I learn something every time I make a video and I believe they are getting better.
