I've been #learning about formal #logic and was curious about somehow adding a language pack or extra symbols to my #android #keyboard ( #Gboard ) which would allow for the use of logic symbols like ¬, →, ∀, and so on. In the end I settled for adding the terms to my personal dictionary with custom shortcuts.
If anyone knows of a better way I'd be excited to hear about it!
Ever tried the compose key?

Sometimes it's really hard to #imagine something. Like who invented and built the first #piano. 🎹 🎶 🎵
Because who would come up with such a crazy idea as building a giant box, shaping strings out of metal, installing 60, 70, or 80 of them, and tuning them? Traveling to Africa, killing an elephant 🐘 to carve #keyboard keys from its tusk, only to clamp them into this musical instrument to operate the countless tiny hammers that, in turn, make the strings sing? 🤔 🤪
#Who?

I switched back and forth between my old low profile very cheap non #mechanical #keyboard and my #keebio iris rev7 mechanical keyboard. Today I got my #Nuphy Air75 v3 and I am very happy too with it. The Nuphy has low profile mechanical switches and the iris normal cherry mx switches. I use linear red ones in both of them and I am very happy with them but now I am not sure to stick at my iris split keyboard or switch to another split with low profile mechanical switches like the #ZSA #Voyager or the Keebio Iris CE. Don't know which fit's better for me. I think I have to test them the next months.
My first #keyboard was the Olivetti Lexicon 80's 61 key qwerty. That tought me to type, but also dead keys; we use `~` and `´` in Spanish, and those where implemented thusly.
Then Radioshack TSR-80's 53 keyb, which was terrible, but also we had to use a lot, because we didn't have a tape drive, so all games were typed.
Then an IBM PC clone with the 104 keyboard (first ones were US, not the .es or LatAm 105) of all types and qualities.

I was looking through old photos and found this from the end of 2019.
I'd just built my 2nd hand-wired keyboard and had an idea: almost always keys are spaced at multiples of 1/4U, so why not have a long narrow PCB that essentially embodies the row wiring & holds the diodes.
I don't know what exactly the problem with the design was but for some reason it wouldn't work. (maybe just that the diode pads were on the wrong side??) And then for the next years I didn't touch it or think of it until now.
I wonder if I still have the design files.
With compose, funny characters are near:

Personally, I do like the #EeePC series and the #Keyboard version as well...

I'll need to do some BOM optimisations and what's not, but routing wise it's basically done.
I've squeezed in a couple of neat features too. Upgraded the keys matrix from 6x5 to 6x6, and added built in 1.8v/3.3v sensor voltage solder jumper so that my optical sensor wouldn't need an LDO and could be fed directly of the DC/DC buck converter on the board
Kinda sad that #TEX are the only ones making external #TrackPoint #Keyboards.
https://tex.com.tw/collections/keyboard
I mean they [sell](SK8707-01) the trackpoint modules and rubber caps, and they do #OEM #Keyboards so worst-case one could do it like the #VaioP11Z or like #GPDwin have it mounted to the side.
