> ICE sighting outside of climate pledge arena. They are across the street from the arena, next to Tom's bar. There are 3 federal vehicles 2 agents outside the car and at least 2 more agents in the cars themselves. They appear to be there in preparation for the Peso Pluma concert tonight.

Hi, these are the weekly #washingtonstate #kingcounty (that is, #seattle and environs) #COVID #COVID19 #wastewater toots.

A quick reminder that this King County respiratory disease data comes from Washington State, not the federal government.

The West Point (WSPT) sewage treatment plant's 7 day running average of its detected Sars-CoV-2 levels went up a bit. The last calculation was made on 2/17.

WSPT is one of three King County(-ish) sewersheds in this dataset. You can find overviews, individual sewershed results, and a breakdown of variants for the state wastewater surveillance program, along with other metrics like case counts and hospitalizations for Covid-19 and other respiratory illnesses, at doh.wa.gov/data-and-statistica. If you go to the page and click "learn more" in the statewide view tab, you can find out lots of details about how these data are calculated and how to interpret them. The dashboard gets updated every Wednesday (generally). The Department of Health is here on the fediweb, at @WADeptHealth

Remember how the West Point (WSPT) sewage treatment plant's 7 day running average of its detected Sars-CoV-2 levels went up lots last week? Well, it went down lots this week. I don't know what was going on two weeks ago, but, hey, glad to see this. The last calculation was made on 2/8.

A quick reminder that this King County respiratory disease data comes from Washington State, not the federal government.

The West Point (WSPT) sewage treatment plant's 7 day running average of its detected Sars-CoV-2 levels went up a great deal. The last calculation was made on 2/3.

Left column, “How It Works”:
1. Wear a whistle.
2. If you see ICE, blow it.
• For ICE driving or lurking: short blasts (“PRE—PRE—PRE”).
• For an abduction: continuous blasts (“PREEEEEE”).
3. When you hear a whistle: get to safety or follow the sound, form a crowd, stay loud.
4. Text 844‑724‑3737 (WAISN hotline) with location and details.
Right column, “How to Help”:
Share whistles, teach whistle codes, 3D‑print whistles, host assembly parties, give out free whistles, spread the word on social media, join WA Whistle Warriors. A QR code links to “linktr.ee/wa.whistles.”

The issue with the 61st Ave connection to Burke-Gilman that it's _very_ steep. Fixing it is on Kenmore's agenda, with funding tied to Sound Transit 3's RapidRide construction starting this year. (See kenmorewa.gov/our-city/project for a light overview.) But obviously, that doesn't help for this closure.

King County could suspend parking on 175th and use that for a walking detour, but there's no paved connection from that section of parking to 61st Ave NE, and setting up a temporary barriered area in the road would create a dangerous two-way single-traffic-lane next to a park popular with children.

So. Closure. Plan accordingly.

Burke-Gilman is going to be closed for up to five days in Kenmore between 61st Ave NE and 65th Ave NE starting February 16th. It's probably hillside reinforcement.

People on bikes can detour onto 175th, which runs in parallel. It's low-traffic, but what traffic is there includes heavy industrial from the cement plant.

Since there are no sidewalks on 175th - at all - people on foot are advised to go uphill to Bothell Way. Despite some business driveways, that length of sidewalk is perfectly reasonable, and next to a bus lane rather than full traffic. However, the climb up from 61st is very steep and is _NOT_ ADA-compliant.

Attention Seattle area restaurants: ICE units may visit soon. You may refuse service if you believe your safety or that of staff or customers is at risk. Consider seeking legal guidance or consulting local law enforcement first.
