The new #Korg electro-mechanical resonator #instrument looks v cool indeed but kind of expensive. Good thing it won't be available for few months, time to collect some dosh.
#Korg has presented a new instrument at NAMM and it's the first new #instrument by Korg that I find interesting in a long time.
The #Phase8, which creates its sound by making metal reeds vibrate using magnets, and picking up the sound again.
The last Korg synth that really made me jump for joy was the Trident MK II from the late 70ties. Unfortunately I don't have it any more. I also had a Poly61m, which was decent. But the recent synthesizers by Korg didn't work out for me during the last 20 years or so.
For me, this guy in the video works as the perfect infuencer, he does the kind of stuff I like. Tangerine Dream and Klaus Schulze meet ambient noise opportunities.
Yet for almost 1k€ estimated retail prize, I'll have to continue reviewing products monthly on Thomann and thereby finally win their 1k€ voucher…
Progress!

The Minilogue XD Sound librarian with my daughters hand written font, seems like it just loads the first font in the alphabet 😆 #korg #minilogue

For the spherical coordinates, we'll use 3 dimensions to sequence the main synth. One sequencer will do the notes on an odd signature (pitch & time covering 2 dimensions) & another, an euclidian sequencer, will control the gate (our 3rd dimension) on it, also at an odd signature, but different, creating a subtle variation.
Similarly, the bassline will follow an odd signature, but no gating, opting instead for a bit more sustain.

Recently got my first Hardware Synth, the Korg Wavestate MKII
I've been messing about with it and as it is always hooked up to my audio interface it makes recording easy.
So I've put my first experiments up on bandcamp for free.
If anyone is into spacey reverb drenched ambient soundscapes (or the Wavestate) you can have a listen . . .

This is propably the 'most autistic music workflow' and I enjoy every step of it.

Richard D. James aka Aphex Twin speaks to Tatsuya Takahashi (2017) (archive.org)
🎵 Breaking news: Aphex Twin talks to a guy who used to work at Korg! 🎹 Apparently, they collaborated on something called a "Monologue"—presumably a device that puts audiences to sleep faster than the actual interview. 🤔 zzz...

Love these #Arturia machines to death. I have a #Novation #UltraNova at home, and might add a #Korg #Opsix soon. Gonna need a bigger soundcard!
I also found enough little wooden blocks, strips, and wedges in my off-cuts to affix some bumpers/stays to the sheet of plywood I keep my #KORG #FC6 #MIDI foot controller and KORG #PS2 pedals on under my desk. Similarly, they were always sliding, getting kicked or bumped by my office chair, etc. Less frequently, cables getting disconnected.
At this point, I had a pretty good idea of what placement and angles felt best. Again, no longer a frustration and easily improved iteratively.
