I'm glad I stumbled upon this article about a tiny island in #Micronesia - part of the Marshall Islands which were occupied by #japan. During #WWII they were invaded, occupied and administrated by the USA.
Once nicknamed "Execution Island", it hosted trials (and an execution) for war crimes. And that's just a drop in the bucket for the islands, which are still occupied by the US military as a missile defence site to this day.
#Kwajalein Atoll in the Republic of the Marshall Islands is home to a critical Army base that enables U.S. #MissileDefense testing & sensing, nuclear #GloryTrip tests as well as a unique set of #space sensing assets available nowhere else. It is strategically important for the U.S. to strengthen ties with the RMI.
