Yunohost Install screen taken via a vga cable to an LCD screen.

Looks like there was lots of electromagnetic interference around.

Pantalla táctil KD070V02 en ArchLinux

Vamos a instalar la pantalla táctil de 7 pulgadas KD070V02 en nuestro sistema basado en ArchLinux. Este dispositivo, basado en una pantalla LCD IPS, permite una resolución de hasta 1024×600 píxeles. Asimismo, es táctil capacitiva, con detección de hasta 5 puntos simultáneos.

Instalación

El conexionado se basa en una entrada HDMI y 2 conectores miniUSB. Uno de ellos está etiquetado con «POWER», mientras que el otro indica «TOUCH». En la práctica, ambos USB tienen las mismas funcionalidades.

Lo normal es conectar unos de los microUSB al dispositivo con Linux, siempre que asegure 2 amperios de salida, y su HDMI a la correspondiente salida de vídeo. La pantalla se alimentará por el mismo USB desde donde permitirá el control del interfaz táctil.

Detección del dispositivo

A nivel del vídeo, el dispositivo es directamente detectado. Podemos usar xrandr para ver las características de la pantalla. Si estamos conectados vía ssh, tendremos que añadir el parámetro «-d :0».

These patterns & spots on the i5 screen is distracting as hell. 🙄

The guy I purchased the X260's from also gave me a box of random #thinkpad parts - with some LCDs in there. I best check to see if there is a good replacement LCD in there... or do I splurge for a really nice resolution LCD?

Or better, put a really nice #LCD in the i7, put the LCD from the i7 in the i5 since it is slightly lower CPU speed...

Ohhh decisions.

I scored 2 #Thinkpad #X260 laptops at #EFM #electronicsfleamarket in March with a handful of batteries for really cheap.
a i7 2.6Ghz and an i5 2.4Ghz

The i7 is immaculate, and is running great.
The i5 has some issues. Opening it up it was missing the SSD and SODIMM RAM, and I noted some corrosion on the aluminum frame around the SSD slot.

Getting it to moot up, there is this really weird spotting and "worms" with the #LCD that is really distracting. Not sure how this happened - and would love any insights as to the what & why this happened.
I suspect just easier to swap out the 12.5" 1366x768 for something with better resolution?

I did order two 32 GB DDR4 2666 SODIMMs from #aliexpress - the unofficial max #RAM for these X260's - and they work great. Both the i7 & the i5 detect the SODIMMs in the BIOS and in Win11. I initially had some spare 16GB SODIMMs in them, but why not max out the RAM when most apps and browsers are memory hogs lately?

I've got an interesting update on this toot.
Because the notebook 📓 has a permanently disabled LCD main screen, I decided to forgo My beautiful uptime and replace that computer with another nice system, where I shall acquire high up times again.
This one has a smaller screen which means it uses about as much power as a glorified watch
