Your memory of crisp images on CRT displays isn't just nostalgia—there's a technical reason. CRTs don’t have fixed pixels like LCDs, so when displaying low-resolution content (e.g., retro games or early digital art), they avoid pixel interpolation, maintaining sharp, clean lines without the blurriness that LCDs often produce when up-scaling.
While CRTs can appear slightly softer in fine detail due to analog signal limitations, their lack of a rigid pixel grid allows them to render native low-res content with exceptional clarity and authenticity, especially with visible scan-lines enhancing perceived sharpness.
So, it's not just nostalgia—the image was genuinely sharper for certain types of content.
For audio 50 inch screen (with surround sound setting set to on and with digital audio out set to auto) are good, but if you want a more still motion from the display you might prefer a 60 inch display. But 50 inches are cheaper, and if audio from the tv is a main concern then a 50 inch tv is good. If anyone shopping for a new tv, try to get atleast a 50 inch size because anything lower, it'l work but that's where most of the audio flaws with these flat TV's are most noticeable. Also room size will also affect sound quality from the internal speakers.
Some people will say that front facing speakers are best but for flat screens, you actually want the upward and back placed speakers, because the strength is that the sound can travel through the room and wall giving you a very immersive sound experience.
My tv config is for a typical living room, with a medium size space.
When a say more still image I mean it's easier for your eyes to focus on what's displayed inside the tv frame once the screen is bigger.

I've been using an old LCD Panasonic telly as a monitor for years. It appears to have been designed for use as both telly and monitor, as it has a VGA input. I suspect that you're more up-to-date on OLED than I am. (-:

Alas one could in theory #DIY cheaper eInk Monitors if one accepts seconds-per-frame instead of frames per second as well as being willing to fiddle around with a @RaspberryPi / #Pi0 v1.3 and shove that #HDMI2CSI adapter on so it bssically displays a captured #HDMI signal in fullscreen.

Vendo monitor 23" Dell U2312HM, condizioni estetiche perfette, neanche un graffietto. Pixel perfetti, non c'è n'è uno bruciato o spento. Il connettore VGA balla leggermente: se spostate il pc tutti giorni da un po' fastidio, se lo tenete fisso, non ci sono problemi.

It's a really pretty design! And while the man in the video says it's useless, I actually started a CO2 sensor project this winter, but I didn't have a display or case.
Now I guess I do!
But it turns out driving a matrix of #LCD segments is surprisingly difficult.
