Yet, interesting to read of the concept of "immutable" distros: #bubble-#wrapped-#sandboxed... but for stable-no-change systems: not a bad idea!

Take desktop environments for example.
KDE has an LTS release (5.27).
Your "Linux desktop experience" on an LTS distribution might vary greatly, because bugs you encounter with KDE on Wayland (for example) may have already been fixed upstream, but not for you.
You will be stuck on your LTS version (unless you decide to "break" the LTS distribution by installing the non-LTS KDE versions which is something KDE Neon used to do with the latest Ubuntu LTS and KDE 6).
If you are a gamer with a more modern PC, your games might require the recent features of DLSS and FSR shipping with the graphics drivers.
You can benefit from using the recent Linux kernels with the recent graphics drivers for that use-case.
Same goes for multimedia and 3D stuff.
