Ohh hey look what I found in my stash, my underused #Odroid XU4, wondered if it still works and if there is still projects supporting that #SBC , and yes there are. Gave #Lakka a go but the latest 5.0 image did not work, #Recalbox however works fine, guess ill be doing retro gaming this weekend. Also always a very underrated device.

I'm trying out software to set up a retro gaming console on a Raspberry Pi 4 I've had lying around.

I just tested Lakka, that I believe is developed by the team behind RetroArch, that is very sleek. However, two blocking issues for me right now is that it won't find any wifi networks and that it doesn't save the result after scanning the ROMs.

I think I got the 2014 Mac Mini set up close to how I intended. The main purpose was to make it a retro gaming emulator.

I have #Retrodeck installed, games loaded and ready to go.

I tried #Batocera and #Lakka prior to installing #Debian, but oh my the fan just ran at full blast with those OS. With Debian it runs cooler and the fan barely makes a peep.

I wrote up a quick guide about cross-compiling Syncthing for Lakka 5.0 and getting a working service running: https://git.disroot.org/atc/Notes/wiki/Lakka-and-Syncthing. Irony is, I don't actually use this directly as part of my toy gaming setup; I just wanted to know how to do it.

I have a spreadsheet where I'm keeping track of various #retroGaming #handhelds and the #opensource firmwares that officially support them. I'm surprised which device is so far out in front of all the others.

The #TrimUiSmartPro; supported by #batocera #retronix #retropie #recalbox #lakka #arkos #knulli and #crossmixOS. It's not a powerful device, a little faster than the #Anbernic RGXX line, but at just under $100 it could be good for #Dreamcast

@oldthink34 well it depends on the SoC mainly; there are projects like #Rocknix that have #Linux distros for various #Rockchip based handhelds. #Lakka supports a lot of #Amlogic devices, #Batocera supports a bunch of others.

That #Razer is based on a #Snapdragon G3X which is a beast of a chip, but I'm not aware of any opensource distros on #Qualcomm chips.

Maybe some #Ayaneo #PocketS owners have heard of something? #ayaNeoPocketS

I was not able to get a plug and play solution like #Batocera, #Lakka, or #Retropie to boot on the #MangoPi MQ-Quad

So for the time being, I was able to install janky official #Debain iso and upgrade it to #Bookwork with the official repos.

I will probably have to install all the emulators individually. Holler at your boy if you know some good emulators for the following:
