@mpjgregoire "Stawk" and "stock" are homonyms for me, as are "Don" and "dawn." But "house" sounds different from the plural form "houses", as is common in Canadian English.

As I mentioned to someone in the Netherlands once, many Canadians will pronounce the singular "house" closer to Dutch "huis", so it's a strong tell for distinguishing us from Americans. 🙂
