#Ipswich only made number 5 in the #Turdtowns list for #Suffolk (so was "least worst" town). I was surprised to find #Leiston in there, didn't think it was that bad but have never been there often and have no reason to. Not surprised #Lowestoft came out on top, and I suspect poverty is a big reason (as it loses out even on martime-related employment to #Felixstowe and #Ipswich )

Dave Greenwood, Stilt Walker
This was taken in Aldeburgh, Suffolk, in about 1979 at the Aldeburgh Carnival. Dave was using his not inconsiderable skills as a stilt walker for this parade, to raise funds for the events. He and I were part of the Performing Folk Group Magic Lantern, based at the time in nearby #Leiston.

A Pride flag has been deliberately hauled down from a flag pole, cut up and rehoisted in a vandalised state at an allotment in #Leiston , #Suffolk - the flagpole was also damaged.
Suffolk Constabulary are investigating...
This is the first time I've heard about anything like this happening in 15 years, although its only in last 5 or 6 years that the LGBT+ community has openly made itself more visible, particularly outside the urban areas of Ipswich..
