I should not have cheaped out on the #lifepo4 battery management system and gotten one with Bluetooth for diagnostics instead.
Would have saved me quite a lot of time trying to figure out why it won't accept charge. Turns out that one of the cells got discharged below 2.8V and triggered the protection.
Once I knew this, it just took a couple of seconds of single-cell charging to get it above 2.8V and working again.

Habe mich heute übrigens mit Batterie-Polen für #LifePo4 Autobatterien und Steckern und Kabeln und Durchmessern von M8 Gewindebolzen und Ladegeräten beschäftigen müssen. Dabei wollte ich doch einfach nur die Verbraucherbatterie austauschen.
Am Ende musste ich #unverrichteterDinge leider abbrechen, weil ich jetzt weiteres Zeug bestellen muss. Grmpfl. 🤷
@giggls @ulrichkelber Deren Volumen- und Gewichtseffizienz ist signifikant schlechter als #LiFePO4 und daher eignen die sich nur für großvolumige #USV|s.
- Besonders wenns ums verdrängen von #Diesel geht dürfte #Methanol-#Brennstoffzelle erfolgreich sein, weil damit keine Handling-Unterschiede sind und bei #LKW, #Bus|en und #Netzersatzanlage|n die schnelle Nachtankbarkeit sowie hohe #Eenergiedichte siegt, damit also #Verbrenner-Ende vereinfacht!
Three days of #BoatYoga makes me sore. It was easier before. Well, at least I finally have a #LiFePO4 battery! And since I built the battery myself it has built-in a BMS with CAN-bus and a #raspberrypi running #VenusOS.

Made one mistake in my wiring harness. I forgot to add the positive side direct battery string access wire. I may not bother with it. I don't need it yet.
I need to do a second check of the wiring, then I can use it to test my cells.

-Ein #LiFePO4- Akku mit 500Ah bei 12V & 25kg Gewicht sind 240Wh/kg. Bei Methanol sind es > 2.000Wh/kg bzw. >1.500Wh/l 1.
Außerdem ist Methanol nicht nur billig sondern auch sicherer im Umgang, umweltfreundlicher im Brandfall und mit existierender Infrastruktur logistisch meisterbar.
- Gerade als Speicher für elektrische Energie wäre die Methanolherstellung sinnvoll.
