Every time I work with #Lightworks #NLE I find some stuff that simply doesn't work, or doesn't work properly. This must be love. Love for the imperfections.

Oh, it can do #AV1 #video #codec now? Great, this is supposed to be better than #h265.

But why does it put into a #MP4 file, it would be much more convenient in a #MOV container together with PCM audio. (PCM audio apparently is illegal in MP4.)

Also, why does one .mp4 file play back in #VLC, but the other one from Lightworks doesn't?

EDIT: Because my VLC plays back only 10bit AV1 from LWKS, but not 8bit, apparently. And my Mastodon instance can handle neither h265 nor AV1 properly.

My journey to #Linux continues. Alas, I have hit a (major) blocker :( Trying to install and run #DaVinciResolve on #Fedora41 fails because of some library changes (zlib). Fiddled around a bit, but no luck yet. It either fails to run or it just doesn´t install. Tried #Lightworks, great performance, but I don´t think it´s my cup of tea. And the #Blender VSE, while heavily improved, is by no means something I could use for every day video editing. Too much is (still ;)) missing.

#Lightworks gibt es aktuell wieder mit hohem Rabatt. Ist ein sehr guter Videoeditor, der auch unter #Linux läuft.

Leider closed source, aber dafür so unglaublich viel besser als so ziemlich alle Open-Source-Alternativen 😔

This is the #LightWorks video editor on Linux. It's not open source, but if #Kdenlive or #Shotcut doesn't work for you, you might wanna give it a go. The free version is limited to exporting 720p only. Which might be enough if you're exporting for #PeerTube, where bandwidth is expensive.

Meine absolute Traumvideobearbeitungssoftware, #Lightworks, funktioniert nach einer kleinen Schwierigkeit auch unter #Linux #Mint.

Der Installer lightworks_2023.2_r146240.deb möchte libjack-jackd2-0 entfernen, was aus einer Abhängigkeit von libjack0 resultiert. Ich konnte libjack-jackd2-0 problemlos gegen libjack0 in Synaptic austauschen. Bislang keine Probleme bemerkt.

I'm a huge fan of the #ExplaningComputers channel on #YouTube. There is a certain "britishness" to its approach and tonality (Welcome to another videooh! – A certain 80s BBC vibe, if you know what I mean). The topics are well researched and presented. 👌

The recent video about #videoediting on #linux – including proprietary tools – is quite interesting. I have worked with #Lightworks and #DaVinciResolve in the past, but I have not used #Autograph yet. Will check on it!

I can't get myself used to Lightworks, so I guess it's time to get the Studio version of DaVinci (Resolve? Does it still get called Resolve even if it's the Studio verson? Idk)
